Hi lovelies! I’m so excited since next week i am going to Stanford for four whole days! I’m going with my Mom and my sister, Charley, Ava and Isabella my niece. As i’ve mentioned loads of times before, i love, love going there – i’m looking forward to long walks in the village, supper at the Italian restaurant (and my daily ice cream from them too), the Wednesday morning produce market, a visit to Klein Rivier Cheese for a picnic and to take Charley and Isabella to see the animals and general lazing about doing very little. We’ve been going to Stanford for over 10 years now and it creeps into our hearts more every time we visit – it’s all about the slow life there and i love the opportunity it gives me to disconnect from daily life and to plot and plan and daydream. I also love the style of homes here, the rustic charm and the local bric n brac shop where i often find pretties to buy.
This Australian guesthouse reminds me a lot of the Stanford way of life – it’s in Australia but i think it has a universal appeal…
I love the marriage of dark wood and white, i LOVE how much texture there is here – the rumpled linen, the wooden surfaces, ceramics and soft rugs – this is a perfect country escape! I can just imagine escaping here to cook, read and write. What do you think lovelies?
PS. This is where we stay in Stanford. It’s right on the river and it also has a pool which is great for summer.
