• You could say fashion and I are friends. Well, sort of. I mean, I like nice clothes and all but I rarely pore over fashion spreads in magazines and I can safely say I am not particularly au fait with seasonal fashion trends until they’re right in my face (for that visit the fabulous Justine Stafford’s blog www.ifor1.co.za and you’ll be sorted).

That said I couldn’t resist popping in to the launch of www.africhic.com, a new online destination where you’ll find a handpicked selection of on-trend fashion items and accessories made by local South African talents, from Missibaba to Philippa Green, Michelle Ludik and the East African influenced Lalesso label, all at competitive prices and more importantly all, under one cyber roof. The selection is still relatively small, but it’s contained and here’s hoping we’ll see more designers from around the continent featured in the months to come.

I also have my eye on these

Oh and lastly, the Bargain Betty side of me  likes the site because:

    • Shipping is free throughout South Africa

    • For now, every purchase gets you a free Missibaba necklace

    • There’s a 10% discount as part of their opening special
