Hello lovelies and welcome to the second in the Hello Pretty Wednesday series. Given that there are only 41 days until Christmas (holy mackerel!!!) and not nearly enough days to spend wandering around malls looking for gifts, it makes sense to sort out your shopping using as many online channels as possible. Which is why i’ve teamed with Hello Pretty to showcase some of my favourite finds on their site. Here are this week’s faves…
As you will have picked up i love a good print. I like that they are affordable artworks and i think they make fabulous gifts to. This mixed media print by Message is no exception – it costs R195 and i think it would look great in a hallway or bedroom as a daily reminder to go out and carpe the cr*p out of everyday. Buy it here.
Who wouldn’t be your dutiful slave if served a coffee in this manly mug every morning? It’s cute and to the point and a great price (R110) too. Find it (and plenty more quirky buys) from Peg & Pencil here.
As a Mum who often has to leave the house with everything but the kitchen sink for Charley Bird and I in one bag, i often have my eyes peeled for nice ‘baby bags’. Titch & Bean have solved the dilemma by creating washable and lined bags Momi that don’t have ‘Mumsy’ written all over them. They also have brilliant ‘clutch’ bags in equally fabulous patterns which hold a nappy and some creams and have a separate pouch for your purse and keys. A lovely gift for a Mum to be. It costs R845 and you can buy thus Lollypop an other designs here.
Have you heard of Phlo Studio? They’re a local textile design company who have recently launched – their cushion range is really, really lovely – with striking patterns galore – like this beautiful Lisbon cushion which is selling for R300. I absolutely love it! Browse this and other cushions from their range here.
Isn’t this Skaapie cushion adorable? It’s been amazing to see Charley fall in love with the various creatures in her life – she has a kitty cushion which she kisses good night every night – it melts my heart! This cute, cuddly creation is by Aapie & Skapie and costs R280 and would make an adorable gift for a small somebody in your life.
How about creating a stationery kit for the paper lover in your life? From stickers to envelopes, pencils and paper, they’d love it! These stickers by Triple D are such a cheap and very cheerful buy – plus they’re perfect for prettying up gifts wrapped in plain white paper. They cost R25 a sheet.
I luuurve bath salts. They’re great for unwinding at the end of the day thanks to the detoxifying properties of the epsom salts. This jar from Darling Jane has two of my favourite fragrances – Vanilla and Grapefruit – i like the packaging too. It costs R45 – there are loads of other choices in this natural body care range too – take a look here.
I am such a fan of Natasha Wood’s work – her attention to detail is immaculate and i never cease to be complimented on the pendants she made for me from shards of porcelain i found buried in our garden. Her wooden rings for men also rock my world, These brass airplane cufflinks are amazing and i know for certain The Captain would absolutely love them. They’re R600 – such a great gift buy! Shop for Natasha’s wares here.
