Good morning lovelies! I hope you had a good weekend. We spent our last weekend in Muizenberg for a while – it’s quite surreal to think we’ll be moving on from the home we spent so much time renovating and making ours for a new adventure. I am SO excited for our new space! There will be a lot to do over the course of the next few months as we add layers to it. I’ve finally nailed down how i want the lounge to work and on Saturday i popped to Prominent Paints to choose some paint for a feature wall in our main living room and in our bedroom. A look i’m currently loving is when a wall is painted in the same tones as the furniture and decor in front of it – i think it adds such depth to a space and is so visually strong, take a look…
The slubby linens on this sofa are beautifully reflected in the dirty blue, textured paint used on the wall behind it
I absolutely love this simple-as-anything house number that’s a planter – so lovely (here is the DIY on doing it yourself)
An interesting take on this decorating trick is to paint the ceiling or in this case, the floor in the same or a similar shade
This is the pic that sparked this post – look how dramatic this sideboard looks?! I love it.
Another exercise in muted tones and texture
This is more of a complementary colour story but it still works beautifully
Midnight blue for the win!
Another sideboard is incoporated into the room by being built using the same panelling and painted using the same shade of paint
White on white is a look you can’t but love!
Have a happy day lovelies!
