Helloooo you lovely people. It’s Mandy behind the scenes today. It’s no secret that my interior preference is for homes that display a healthy balance between thoughtfully pulled together decor elements and kick-your-feet-up casual. When I think of furniture pieces that I still need or pieces I’ve seen that I’m hankering after, it’s often the usual suspects that come to mind: sofas, chairs, coffee tables, consoles, dining tables, desks, cupboards, shelves, cabinets. What I keep forgetting until I see one in magazines or other people’s homes is how much I LOVE a good pouffe and how I’d love a couple at home. I think their multitasking personalities are just brilliant – an inviting piece to flop on, a surface area for books or a cuppa, movable seating that can be located from room to room or indoors to out (depending on the fabric, obvs), a foot rest, a way to add pops of colour or texture, a smart seating choice where space and/or budget is tight… You get the point, they’re super versatile and aesthetically pleasing and brilliant for adding a low-key bohemian vibe. Have one made by an upholsterer in a robust material of your choice or check out places like Moroccan Warehouse, Ashanti, Moroccan Lifestyle, Mr Price Home, Hello Pretty, Weylandts, Bohemia, The Sofa Company (who have one very similar to the blue-velvet beauty seven images down) and Kids Living, though if you have any other spots you know of for cool and unusual pouffes or if you can recommend an upholsterer who has made one up for you, it would be fabby if you could let me know.
Happy Monday everyone. It’s a beautiful Autumn day in Cape Town and I’m sneaking off to walk my mom’s puppy from the marvellous African Tails rescue organisation. Because puppies!
