Wooden pallets are marvellous things. Truly they are. Reassigned from their shipping/building duties, they can be up cycled and transformed into the coolest low-cost pieces of functional furniture, whether your style inclinations run to contemporary, rustic, shabby chic or urban industrial. At the moment I have precious little time to zoot up my home, but I’ve handpicked these ideas because I love them all, think they’re brilliant and intend to introduce a pallet or two just as soon as I can.
Pallets make fab Boho style daybeds or corner sitting spaces. Add castors and you’ve got mobile seating, and don’t forget there’s typically storage space for books and magazines thanks to their utilitarian design.
You don’t need an entire pallet to make something brill. Give a plank or two a distressed paint treatment (or don’t), add small doorknobs and you’ve got yourself a rustic wall feature that doubles as storage.
A headboard with script is fun.
